UHY Sponsors leading UK Paralympian
Shelly Woods is a T54 wheelchair racing athlete who has competed at the highest level in her sport. At the age of 11, Shelly fell from a tree while playing hide and seek and tragically broke her back. She was left paralysed from the waist down, leaving her wheelchair bound. Shelly had previously been an extremely competitive child, heavily into her sport and she did not let this accident stop her. She began wheelchair racing at the age of 16 and competing on a national level shortly after. Shelly’s natural flair, hard work and determination has enabled huge success for her and racing has been her full-time career ever since.
Her most notable achievements to date include, winning the silver medal in the Marathon at the London Paralympic Games in 2012, winning silver and bronze medals in the 1500m and 500m events at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics and winning the London Marathon in both 2012 and 2007.
As a high-profile paralympic athlete, UHY wanted to supply Shelly with some high quality autograph cards that she can use to sign and hand out to her fans at competitions and in her visits to schools and clubs when she’s not competing. We were very happy to print these and we think they look amazing.
UHY will be sponsoring Shelly throughout her 2020 competitive year, which includes 6 marathons and hopefully the Japan Paralympics in the Summer. To follow Shelly’s progress and keep an eye on her achievements throughout the year, you can follow her on Twitter @ShellyWoods86.
We wish you all the best for the coming season Shelly.
