The Italian Job

The Italian Job

Pizza, Pasta, Peroni and Post!

September saw our Works Manager, Tony Clark and Mailing Operative, Neal Hoar travel to Spilamberto in Italy for a week’s training on our new Sitma SM15 mailing machine. Whilst many of us cynics left back in dreary Woking believed this was a cover for a week of Pasta and Peroni excess  we were assured by Tony and Neil that this was not the case. The days were long and the training intensive with many an espresso drunk to keep the lads minds on the job.

The new mailing machine will be capable of processing 13,000 C5 envelopes an hour with full closed loop integrity built in, meaning that we will be able to account for every letter processed and produce a full report to confirm the mailing count. The Sitma will give Optichrome real mailing fire power and ensure all mailings are processed faster!

It wasn’t all work, work, work for the lads as they were treated to a traditional Italian meal (and maybe a few Grappa’s) by Sitma’s UK Distributer, Integra. Both Tony and Neil are looking forward to the arrival of the machine at the beginning of October when they will complete their training and we can get on with the real job of getting letters in the post!
