The Almost Cinco de Mayo Charity Event at Surrey University
We were recently contacted by students from the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Surrey University, asking for our help. They were organising a fund raising event as part of their dissertation in MSc International Events Management.
We were more than happy to help print their marketing literature and we would like to thank them for writing this guest blog and for their very kind comments.
The (almost) Cinco de Mayo Masked Fiesta was an exciting Mexican themed masquerade held on 3rd May at Wates House on the University of Surrey campus to raise money for Woking and Sam Beare Hospices. The event brought 70 guests in attendance and raised £565 for the charity. Each guest that entered the brightly coloured venue received a glow-in-the-dark sugar skull mask and were able to enjoy Mexican flavours like burritos, quesadillas, nachos, churros, and margaritas. Guests participated in a variety of activities like ‘pin the tail on the llama’—where they could win a free raffle ticket that offered awesome prizes like food vouchers to local Guildford restaurants and cinema tickets—and breaking open the piñatas that also held food vouchers and candy inside. The evening came to a fun-filled close with a live Mariachi band performance, where the band performed around the venue amongst the singing and dancing guests, keeping the festive spirit alive.
Those of us on the event team would like to express our extreme gratitude to Optichrome for being a part of making our event such a success in raising funds for Woking and Sam Beare Hospices. Their generosity in providing the printing services for our event artwork and a photographer for part of the evening shows that this company goes above and beyond to support local charities and truly provides excellent service. The vibrant colours and high quality paper of our posters and flyers made it evident that Optichrome’s printing services are worthy of praise, and we are delighted to have worked with them. We are grateful for all that they do and would not have had such a successful event without them! Thank you Optichrome.
