Slade School of Fine Art, UCL

This amazing adult colouring book, entitled, Fill Me In, has been produced by the Graduate Painting students at the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL. It features a high quality of paper, intricate designs, and a wide selection of themes. It serves a dual purpose, as it showcases the students end of year work as well as providing hours of therapeutic downtime.

What once was an activity we employed to keep our children entertained, colouring is now the new phenomenon for adults.  The therapeutic elements parents seek to keep their children calm are now being applied to adults, to help distract them from the daily pressures of life. There are claims by many that colouring is a form of meditation. When you meditate, your brain enters a relaxed state by focusing on the present and blocking out the nonstop thinking we all experience. As a result, you reach a state of calm that relieves your brain from the daily stresses of life.

Slade Graduate Painting Group Project Award

Each year in Graduate Painting at the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL the students lead a group project, which is facilitated by the Slade’s Group Project Award. This year the Group Project Student Committee decided to create a colouring book entitled ‘Fill Me In’ that features drawing contributions from Graduate Painting staff, students and Honorary Research Associates.
