Optichrome welcome young people from the NCS ‘The Challenge’
On Friday 14th July Optichrome welcomed students from the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme for ‘The Challenge’.
This is the third year Optichrome have participated in the scheme and this year we were particularly impressed with the calibre of the students involved.
Group Managing Director Natalie Stephens said “We always look forward to welcoming the students from the NCS, not only do they benefit from the experience but we have found it to be a superb development opportunity for members of our team to act as mentors for the day. It is an incredibly rewarding day for everyone involved.”
As part of the initiative the students are proposing to put on three fun days at a local nursing home, in support of the charity, Dementia Awareness.
They came to Optichrome to pitch their ideas to Mark Corbett (Production Manager) and Matt Burford (IT Director) who offered the students constructive critique ahead of their real pitch to the Dragons.
So far the students have raised £585.70 which is going to their charity partner Camberley Manor Care Home.
We wish them all the very best of luck with their project.
